O PT-91 Twardy está armado com um canhão de 125mm 2A46M L/51, que é semelhante à que e utilizado no T-72. A arma principal é equipado com um carregador automático. O PT-91 Twardy tem sistema de estabilização de novas armas e novo sistema de controle de incêndio. Outros sistemas e pontos eletrônicos também foram melhorados.
The PT-91 Twardy is a Polish main tank developed on the basis of the T-72M1 model. The prototype was built in 1991. The vehicle has a new DRAWA fire control system and has ERAWA reactive armor. The crew of this tank consists of three people: commander, gunner and mechanic-driver.
On typical PT-91 such absorber cover circa 20m2 and achive reduce detecting range at 50 to 60% for typical conditions. ERAWA armor on PT-91 and PT-91MZ . There was three generation of ERAWA armor on PT-91 tank. First generation consisted 394 ERAWA-1 cassette. On hull front was placed 118 cassettes and on turret 108 cassettes.
